The upstairs loft, where we stayed, was uncomfortably hot and stuffy—there was no AC or fans, and the small window in the other room wouldn’t stay open. To make matters worse, as I stepped out onto the balcony, I found contractors working on a new outdoor bar. When my husband returned from a walk, he spoke with the owner about switching to another room. To our dismay, she questioned the staff member who checked us in about why we were placed in the loft. Since it was late in the day, we took a look at the alternative room, which was indeed better, though it still had an outdated and loud wall AC unit. To add to the frustration, the guests staying upstairs were outside our room smoking heavily. It left me with the impression that the new owner lacks experience in managing an inn. Who begins construction during peak season? We were assured that the noise from the construction would finish soon, but it didn’t. Lastly, the bed was old and lumpy. I would not recommend staying here!
During our weekend, we decided to stop by the inn to speak with the manager about the cancellation, especially since we had never received a phone call and had left several messages. Unfortunately, the manager or owner refused to speak with us. While in the parking lot, we chatted with several couples who were also looking at the inn. They warned us against staying there, mentioning that the owner had canceled their reservations as well, even for weddings. We also noticed that our assigned room was occupied during our visit. So, be cautious if you’re considering staying here, as your reservation may be at risk of cancellation!
I made an online reservation for a holiday weekend, and immediately received an email stating that my reservation was pending confirmation. When I didn't get an actual confirmation, I called the restaurant and was told someone would call me back. After not receiving a call, I followed up with an email the next day. When I still didn't hear back, I called again and was promised a call in return. Again, no call came. A week had passed since my initial reservation request, and I was beginning to feel anxious because of the holiday weekend and limited options, so I decided to book elsewhere. The next day, I received a confirmation email from Vineyard Inn. I responded to cancel my reservation but received no reply. A few days later, I called again to confirm my cancellation and to request that I not be charged a cancellation fee due to their poor communication. Unfortunately, I was hung up on. I have never written a negative review before, but I am incredibly disappointed with the service.
I had a great pizza here last year. This time not quite as good but the staff confused me with the wine. We asked for a wine list and we were told they don 't have one. When we asked what they had we were told they have all kinds with no more explanation. We ended up drinking $12/glass house red which we are still clueless as to what it was. It just seemed strange to us for a place with vineyard in the name to be like that. I thought I remember actually tasting different kinds of wine here in the past.
We were on vacation and went here as it looked like a great place. The ambiance was beautiful, the wine was good...but the service was terrible. Our server who I believe she was the owner... was getting high off her own supply, as she was drinking. Her speech was slurred and she messed our order up several times. There were six of us and they were not that busy. We finally asked for the bill and we told her that we no longer wanted the two orders that hadn't been served yet, as it had been over an hour and we all just shared the pizza and just wanted to leave. She insisted on bringing the two dishes and they arrived 15 minutes later and we asked for the check again. When she brought the check the two dishes were on there. Not a surprise from a drunk server owner.
