I had lunch today with my sister and niece at a restaurant. It appeared that there was no manager present during our visit. A female staff member at the bar was wearing a hoodie and trainers, while a smartly dressed woman was walking around behind the bar but seemed distracted by her phone. A younger man was serving behind the bar, and although he looked presentable, there was no clear uniform policy in place. Another man, who I assumed was the chef for the day, was wandering around in jogging bottoms and a t-shirt, which gave off an unprofessional atmosphere. The food was okay, but the mac and cheese seemed to have been microwaved to the point of being overcooked. The overall experience was in line with what you might expect from a cheap and cheerful establishment. I had not visited this place in a long time due to a previous poor meal experience, and unfortunately, the standards had not improved. The restaurant used to be quite busy in the afternoons, but it was deserted during our visit. I doubt I will be returning in the future.
After spontaneously deciding to have dinner at this restaurant because it was close by and relatively inexpensive, I regretted my choice. They didn't have lemon slices for my Gin and Tonic, and the two glasses of Pepsi I ordered were different sizes. The worst part was the atmosphere - there were several men at the bar who were shouting and using inappropriate language, making it uncomfortable for families dining there. The person in charge seemed to be part of their group, as she didn't address their behavior. The food was mediocre, and I don't think the £8.99 'Big Boy Burger' lived up to its name. We won't be returning due to the unpleasant atmosphere.
