The Curry Place - Swindon

My family and I order from this takeaway every week and I cannot fault it. Food is fresh and great quality, as well as always being tasty. Such friendly service and the delivery is very reliable. The best takeaway in Swindon by far and worth a try if you’re looking for a regular place to go to.

Usually a bit of a wait but food good; however ordered a meal last night at 6.25pm. The waiting time given was 1 hour and 15 mins. At 8pm I rang to say it hadn't arrived, was kept waiting on the phone to then be told it was ready but the driver hadn't picked it up. Waited till 8.30pm and rang again to be assured the driver had left. By this time we had been waiting 2hrs. I was told we could have 30% off next meal if we rang the shop directly. I said this wasn't good enough and wouldn't order again. At 9.05pm the driver rang and said he was outside my door he wasn't, even though he insisted he was! he then admitted he was at wrong address. I rang again and was hung up on. The driver arrived at 9.30pm, 3 hrs after I ordered! Stressed is an understatement. I can't believe how unprofessional they are and no well meaning apology. It really spoilt my evening. Just be prepared for a long wait for yr food and really bad customer service.

Lovely food. Service was a bit lacking.. We went as a group of 6 on New years eve. My Fiance booked online via quandoo for a table of 7. A week before hand. The Friday before The restaurant rang her, not mentioning who they were asking for 'Mrs Dean ' she replied that there was no mrs Dean and said they probably had the wrong number and hung up. Straight after this they text her then explaining that it was the curry place and they wanted to confirm our booking. Fair enough. She rang back to have the person still keep asking for mrs dean? After quite a bit of back and fourth we confirmed that it was our booking but under my partners name and confirmed that we still wanted our table of 6 for 7pm. The guy on the phone then said oh well we dont do 7pm bookings so it will have to be 7.30. Even though that was the options on the booking site. He then also asked us to cancel our booking on the site as it charges them money. When we arrived the table was all sorted and it wasnt particularly busy they place was nice enough. (though i did over hear on our table and others that the state of the toilets left much to be desired). The food really was amazing! tasted great. All of us agreed that even though it was a bit of a wait for it. It was good quality stuff. Here was the real downer... We asked to have the bill. Half an hour later even though we kept asking. Didnt get it. Our waiter then said he just had to server another table. 15 minutes later we finally got the bill. We paid cash. We then sat waiting as our waiter and i assume the manager stood at the bar arguing about something. I watched as they argued and asked have you undercharged us? The manager said no they were struggling to do the maths of a fairly simple bill. Eventually after 5-10 minutes they gave me a tenner change (no were near what it was) and we were on our way. In summary the food is amazing really recommend it as long as you are not in a rush!

First time ordering an Indian takeaway in Swindon and found online. Just ordered a meal for four and it was absolutely delicious. Fantastic choice, generous portions and it tasted amazing. Orders online quickly and very easily. Friendly delivery driver and even a personalised Christmas card from the owner!! Excellent food and service. Definitely eat there again. Thank you.

What a find, myself and my partner had a truly wonderful date night here. We tried new Indian dishes, which were gorgeous. The staff could not be more friendly and the food was top notch. Can't wait to return.
