Contribuisci feedbackPros: I liked the Orange chocolate cheesecake. Friendly staff. Location is convenient as it is in CBD wynard. Cons: the interior of the bakery needs renovation and better decoration. Looked old and dull. I came on Saturday at 11:30am, their selection of pastry was limited. They ran out of sausage rolls, was bummed since I wanted to give that a try. Not many pastries on display.....kinda lame for a bakery. Ambience felt slightly depressing, to be honest, so if u want to eat here then I suggest take away. They should play music or something. We came with a big group of friends and we all thought this place was average and not memorable and not impressive. I don't plan to make any special trips out to this bakery......which is a shame cuz I really wanted to like this bakery since the pics looked good and I live close by. Just Average: I saw pics of the pear Frang tart so I tried it. My partner and I thought it was ok, nothing special. I wouldn't order it again. I also ordered a ham cheese croissant, it was very average tasting, bread was too greasy, and I was hoping for it to come on a croissant as the name implied but it was a flaky bread thing.....I would have liked a croissant more. Tarts and most pastries cost $5 each, which is typical around Sydney. I think my ham cheese croissant was $6 or something , if so, that is inexpensive so that's cool.
CBD offers a daily meat and vegetarian salad for lunch, on top of their sandwiches and pies. The vegetarian salad was a combination of mixed leaves, olives, roasted sweet potatoes and herbed ricotta. Balsamic dressing and a sprinkling of walnuts on top completed the dish. It was also served with a comically oversized chunk of savoury bread. Had a crumbly rhubarb tart to end the meal. ---Previous visit--- Perfect for an early breakfast as they open their doors at 7am. As other reviewers have noted, the coffee isn't fantastic but still drinkable. I had the gorgeous rustic fruit toast which came with a generous slab of butter. A reasonably priced serving at $3.50 for 2 slices.
Very good bakery with a very tasty cottage pie and sausage roll. Always wanted a Bourke street bakery in the city but this place would definitely give it a run for its money. They also do the pork and fennel sausage roll and it is beautiful.
Absolutely love this place! They bring in the breads and baked goods from the other Bourke Street Bakery stores. It is the best of both worlds as you get their top quality goods with the convenience of the city location. I had visited this place a few times but since my office is further away from it now I haven't visited for a while and decided to check it out. They have nice store with inviting cabinets. Service is friendly and quick too. They sell a range of breads, sausage rolls, pies, quiches, tarts, cakes, and salads. They also do catering as well. There are so many yummy items it can be overwhelming to decide what you want. I chose a selection of items including a Depot Sourdough Bread (long) ????, Lamb, Harissa And Almond Sausage Roll, Roasted Pear And Chocolate Frangipane Tart, and Poached Fig And Barberry Tart. You can't really go wrong with anything really.
