In the past 20 years we've been here many times, but for the past 5 years (after moving out of town) we have not been here at all. We were interested to see that within the large building they had moved the dining room to a different area in the building, and spruced up the new room. Most of the place looked the same as always, in need of sprucing up but with many good memories we stayed. My wife's order came out just fine fresh perch, nicely prepared. My order on the other hand (sautéed chicken livers) arrived with a ridiculous amount of minced garlic all over the order. I've never had ANY restaurant serve chicken livers with garlic at all, much less bathed in the stuff. I asked about it, the waitress gladly took the order back and prepared it as it would normally be done and even comp'd our dessert when we were all done. Aside from that goof the food was Ok. But considering how many places there are that want your business enough to keep their premises cleaner and nicer I suspect this will be our last visit to Dolly Joe's. No matter how nice the memories of previous visits there are people who WANT our business more than Dolly Joe's seems to want customers.
Not sure if some the reviewers are talking about the new owners.Friends and I went thre yesterday the best reuben I have had.The other girls loved their food as well.Waitress a blast, just down home atomphere.Everything was painted, cleaned and nice done. The waitress's were exceptional. Can't wait to go back.Lynn O'Bryant
The food took forever and came out cold. The service was poor and we were lied to on how long the food would take to arrive. I will never eat here again.
