We also have a page of Baba Ganouj. For drinks we were not too sure what to get, but they said they would let us taste what I thought was great. I cost the Mamoun's icy tea that reminded me of Qahwah because he has the cardamom taste. We got the mint limmonade and the mango potion that both were pretty good. The chicken in the chicken bob sandwich was not as tender as expected. Also the sandwich as a whole was not so good that I would say it was dry and could maybe use some extra sauce in it to keep it together, like garlic sauce or hummus maybe. The Baba Ganouj had a kind of burnt feeling, but it helped add the taste of our sandwiches. The Shawarma was better than the chicken bob sandwich, but not where near an authentic Shawarma. When I grew up in Saudi, eating the authentic way, I might expect too much. The food was ok and I would have given a three, but I was really happy with the service and would like to give a 1 only for the service.
It's been a long time, but we finally have a mamoun in Long Island. Very close to the high style and very cool mood with clean tables. The owners know better not to mess with the menu and how the food is loved. The service is fast and the ambience is very simple and hip. The only thing missing is the crowded metros and hectic of the city. It's really the best felafal sandwich. Very good vegetarian options.
It's a must for vegetarians! Smack in the middle of her display board of options is the Veg choice anywhere else! . Had the West Village Pita Sandwich and the combination of all flavors was quite delish. My hopes: The Falafel balls become with texture and strength the Pita becomes toasty warm. As far as taste is concerned, nothing was too overlaid, meaning that all flavors came through well, and the pimples were an unexpected addition, a good salty crunch. Yes, there is a line during peak times, but it moves quickly. The parking lot is definitely a problem. So prepare for your patience. And they need to set up a numerical display so that the males are alerted that the food is ready; if you sit, it is difficult to call them your order.
The menu is simple, but the taste is anything but simple. I ordered the chicken kebab plate and expected a small cube chicken breast, but I was surprised with what I got. The rice and salad comb was good, but if you go with one, you will not be disappointed. Overall, the taste was great, and so was the experience.
Food was delicious and worth the price we paid. We both got the combo later with both rice and salad. We were both surprised with all the food we got. Definitely will go there again. Only complaint was that the young fellow behind the register seemed to rush us to place our order. It was our first time there and we were unfamiliar with the menu. Besides, there was no one behind us.
