I'd been to their first branch in Shang a few times, and I've not yet been to their SM Aura branch until recently. Brought friends over who haven't been to Kettle yet, and they liked their food. We ordered the Chorizo Gambas for appetizer instead of the usual, impressive and seemingly never ending Pork & Potato Strips (we were, um, feeling like we didn't want too much carbs ????, yeah right!). The Chorizo Gambas, with the mixture of garlic shrimps, sauteed chorizo, peppers and lemon, was pricey at almost P500, but the quantity was decent and the taste of it was just okay. I would have preferred it more garlicky, so eating it reminded me that I ought not order this again next time. It reminded me of my impression of it during a visit at the Shang branch before. Admittedly, I'm more impressed with... read more
Food ordered: Buttermilk fried chicken Pork and potato strips in truffle oil Truffle gorgonzola pasta Food: 5/5 Buttermilk chicken is the best in the world. Cooked to perfection..the skin and breading is full of flavors and the chicken meat is so moist and soft you want to spend a lot of time chewing it. The serving is soooo huge it can serve 2 to 3 people. The gravy is flavorful but the other star is the corn bread and the honey that goes with it. Hope they sell boxes of it coz ill buy a lot. Pork and potato strips is ok and tall. The flavor of the crispy potatoes is so addicting u just cant stop eating it. The truffle pasta is to die for. Creamy, rich and full of flavors. But yeah the serving is only for 1 :) Ambiance 4/5 Good for some instagram pictures. Great interior. Only downside is that Kettle sits beside the comfort room and if u are placed beside the windows, chances are people waiting for their loved ones from the comfort room will watch u eat those heavely foods like they are on an imax cinema. Haha Service 4.5/5 Good people, fast service of food. Was surprised that all the food only took a few minutes and it was served fresh hot and awesome Overall, price is worth the goodness of the food. Will definitely go back again

Admittedly, I'm more impressed with the Pork & Potato Strips. Verdict for the Chorizo Gambas ???????????? I ordered Kettle's most staple dish, Buttermilk Fried Chicken. I was also curious about their spicy version, and it was great of their supervisor to mention to me that I can also order their Spicy version (so regardless of their menu, which said the spicy was available only on Saturdays, it could be purchased anytime now). As king of consumer right of choice ????, I asked if it can be one spicy and one normal and they said yes! Great. So I got to try the spicy version for the first time while my friends get to try both versions. Instead of corn bread on the side, I asked mine to be changed to mushroom truffle brown rice, for an additional P39, to which I said sure. Deboned thigh-leg quarter portions per piece, two pieces--- dang, these suckers are huge, and well coated and seasoned, deep fried and made very crunchy. The mushroom truffle brown rice was very soft, right moistness and so deliciously sinful. #byebyediet (what diet ????) At nearly P600, like most of the Kettle dishes, these are a tad pricey, but their portions are HUGE and can justify it. It has two sauces, gravy and Cajun honey, the latter of which was the best! Both spicy and regular versions were good. Nice to try the spicy one for a change. ???????????????????? My friend also ordered Australian Lamb Adobo, which I've tried before. Had a small bite. Well seasoned, lasang adobo indeed, and the lamb was very soft and easy to chew on. Also served with the truffle brown rice. My friend lapped up the rice, showing how delicious both the rice and lamb were together. ???????????????? Also got to try my other friend's sandwich, Shrimp Po'Boy (Cajun Breaded Shrimps with yummy Remoulade sauce). I also dipped the shrimp and fries on that yummy remoulade sauce. Pretty awesome stuff. I also was thinking of ordering this, but I wanted them to try the buttermilk chicken, so at least I was happy to try this. ???????????????? We had Pistachio cake for dessert, which was quite lovely. Just right sweetness icing, thick enough, pistachio flavor coming out well but not overwhelming, and very soft chiffon cake. They have more dessert options, but we picked this and it was a great choice. ????????????????⭐ Overall, a smidge above 4 stars, the ambience of this place, brightly lit, having a bistro and a bit of a diner look, has a casual feel to it. Service was superb. Always filling up the water glass proactively. Food arrived fairly quickly. Oh and I like that their menu contains a variety of food that meshes Filipino cuisine, with a lot Western influence. Whether you pick a sandwich, pasta, main course, salad or dessert, their portions are usually huge and have a quality to it. I've read in ourawesomeplanet's blog that the owners of this also own Meat Plus and Tender Bob's. Carnivore galore, indeed. Great that it still is a hit, and looking forward to their next concepts.???? It's a shame I've yet to review their original branch despite visiting that one a few times before this branch, so I thought I'd review it well enough now. ???? (written last July 2016)
