The coffee I ordered was very bitter, likely due to being served at such a high temperature that it seemed to have burned the ground coffee. When I asked for a different type of milk, I was informed that they only use one type because it's more convenient when they're busy.
During our last drive back to Melbourne, we made a pit stop at Tailem Bend Bakery and it was a delightful discovery! I tried the rabbit pie on our previous visit and this time around, I opted for the lamb shank pie - absolutely divine! My husband thoroughly enjoyed the steak and kidney pie. We also grabbed two cold pies, a Thai duck pie and a rabbit pie, to enjoy later. The selection of pies was extensive, with flaky and flavorsome pastry. The cakes were also a hit and their coffee was the best takeaway coffee we've had. The staff were incredibly friendly and went out of their way to assist us. We can't wait for our next trip to South Australia to visit again!
The staff was helpful and friendly, providing prompt service. They made really delicious coffee and offered a variety of appetizing food options, including nice sandwiches made to order. We visited the restaurant twice, once on our way to a convention and once on our way back home. We would definitely return in the future.
Cheese and Bacon Pastie and Cheese bacon and beef pie ! Absolutely scrumptious! Will be going here again for sure. Lovely staff and great prices !!
Basic. Plain and simple food. Coffee ok. Neat and tidy. Staff are happy to accommodate your requests and are polite. For a bakery in this day and age I would have expected more interesting choices in bakery items such as rye, chibatta, sour dough etc. Pies were popular.
