The chicken was tough and there were only 6 tiny pieces of plantains. The food did not taste fresh. The cook offered 3 extra pieces of chopped chicken without sauce. I enjoyed the food, but the professionalism and atmosphere of the restaurant were only average.
I concur with a lot of the other reviews. The meat was tough and lacked spices, leaving only a peppery taste. My recommendation is to invest in a pressure cooker and add some magic to your dishes. The portion sizes are small, so the flavor of the food must make up for it.
My fiancée orders from this restaurant at least once or twice a week. It is hands down the best Nigerian food in the Tampa Bay area! The customer service is exceptional and we are always greeted warmly when placing an order.
I was super excited to try this food and went quite far to get it. The Jollob rice was really good, but the meat was hard. It tastes like the meat is cooked separately, then added to the sauces. The Egusi and Fufu is what I really wanted and it was a complete disappointment. The Egusi wasn't great, but it wasn't terrible. The fufu needed some salt or something. I love Cassava and that was just a no!! I'll try again from another restaurant before I give up on this cultivated food. I have only one answer from the owner and how unprofessional you can be!!! We have a right to criticise any food we buy. Therefore, reviews!!! Your meat was not tender!!! And let's get this straight. I am from an island and was around various cultured foods including African food! My brother-in-law is Nigerian and he cooks all the time so I know how good food tastes. I never had the Egusi and Fufu, so I was curious to try!!! Your flesh was HARD, probably days old!! And I said the Jollob was probably one of the best. ve had, but your attitude is terrible!
Paid $73.78 dollars for four meals. 2 beef chicken, 2 chicken Egusi meals. The chicken was so tough and full of fat I couldn?t eat it. Provided very little sauce. The big bun actually neutralized a little of the hotness of the mild greens mix. Overall a horrible meal. Didn?t look anything like the picture. Was 1/4 cup mix.. not even a full meal. Very disappointed! I drove so far?. First picture is only as much as I could eat and the second picture is what it looks like before eating. Hope your experience is better than mine was.
