Hearty As Dumplings - Taupo District

Absolutely delicious, there was a queue in front of us which made it a little wait but it was well worth it. Amazing and she will customise the sauces and topping for you. I could not recommend this enough. The lady was a gem too.

A must-stop if you are driving by! What a happy accidentally find. A delightful lady making amazing dumplings. The veggie options make this a must for anyone pacing by!

Absolutely loved the pork dumplings. The sauce was really good and dumplings with is perfect! Pork with chives dumpling had ran out for us so we didn't have a chance to taste it. Unfortunately, one has to drive out to almost the wilderness to get it, and deal with a sarcastic lady taking the order (and cooking it seems like a one woman show! Parking available by the roadside. Do slow down on arriving near the junction!

Great little dumpling stand on the side of the road. Only have two options on the menu savoury pork and chives dumplings with their secret hearty sauce, or sweet fried banoffee dumplings with ice cream. Both are amazing! Definitely worth stopping here.

Oh my goodness! There you are, miles away from a roadside stall let alone somewhere where you could buy petrol or a coffee, and there it is. Culinary perfection in the form of fresh dumplings! We had savoury (pork and chives) and sweet (apple and cinnamon) and were instant fans! We could have had coffee too. Annabel is a star! If you find yourself on State Highway 32 heading to or from the western side of Lake Taupō, time your trip to coincide with the opening hours and support this delicious enterprise. Ngā mihi nui.
