The best Sunday lunch we have had in Bovey Tracey. By far the best restaurant in the area. We went for Sunday lunch on Mothers day and it was fully booked. (we had booked) We were only interested in Sunday roast, and there was a choice of Beef or Turkey. we all had Beef and it was superb, plenty off it, tender and plenty of veg. The roast potatoes were outstanding. You might ask why so much detail! well we have had some pretty dreadful Sunday roasts in and around Bovey. The deserts were also outstanding and plenty of choice plus good size portions. Wine choice and quality was limited but very reasonably priced £19:50 bottle and it was ok and enjoyable. The staff, particularly the lady were outstanding, friendly and helpful. Would we go again? absolutely although we were visitors from far off Hampshire our friends were locals and surprisingly it was their first but definitely not their last visit.
I love lunching here, especially when all my friends can join us. The hosting is just right, not invasive, but attentive, and good humoured. The food is always delicious and plentiful and the pricing is good. Highly recommend.
Well found this quite by accident and glad we did.Warm cosy fire, immaculate tables and well looked after by Trevor.Food brill-try the Cottage Pie- and only a short wait. Not over priced and the only downside was the Tea which wasn't the best. However will return but have coffee next time!!
Recently visited on a family holiday The cream tea is a must Provided cooked food even though the kitchen had stopped serving meals
