Nestled in the rolling hills of Temecula's wine country, Callaway Winery is a charming and picturesque destination for wine enthusiasts and foodies alike. My recent dinner experience at Callaway Winery was truly unforgettable, as the combination of exquisite cuisine, impeccable service, and the breathtaking vineyard views made for a magical evening. My recent dining experience at Callaway Winery in Temecula was an absolute culinary delight. From the moment I walked into the winery, I was greeted with warm hospitality and a cozy ambiance that set the stage for an extraordinary evening of gastronomic pleasures. The menu at Callaway Winery boasts a tantalizing array of farm-to-table dishes, expertly crafted by their culinary team. To start, I ordered the Shrimp Roll Salad and Oxtail for appetizers, and they did not disappoint. The Shrimp Roll Salad was a refreshing medley of plump shrimp, crisp lettuce, and tangy dressing, all wrapped in a delicate roll. The Oxtail, on the other hand, was a succulent treat with tender meat that melted in my mouth, paired with rich flavors and a hint of spices that left me craving for more. Both dishes were beautifully presented and showcased the culinary prowess of the chef. For the main course, I opted for the Roasted Duck Breast and Catfish Crawfish Etouffee. The Roasted Duck Breast was a masterpiece, with perfectly cooked duck breast that was juicy and flavorful, complemented by a luscious cherry sauce that added a sweet and tangy contrast. The dish was accompanied by a medley of seasonal vegetables that added a burst of freshness to the plate. The Catfish Crawfish Etouffee was equally impressive, with the tender catfish and succulent crawfish cooked to perfection in a rich and flavorful sauce, served over a bed of creamy rice. The dish had just the right amount of spiciness and depth of flavors, leaving me with a satisfied palate. To accompany my meal, I indulged in a bottle of Callaway Winery's house wine, which was a delightful choice. The sommelier's recommendation was spot-on, and the wine perfectly complemented the flavors of the dishes, enhancing the overall dining experience. The service at Callaway Winery was exemplary, with attentive and knowledgeable staff who took care of every detail. The waitstaff was prompt, friendly, and well-versed in the menu, providing helpful suggestions and accommodating any special requests. What made my dining experience even more memorable was the picturesque vineyard views that surrounded the winery. The sun set over the rolling hills, casting a warm glow on the vineyards, creating a serene and enchanting ambiance. I can't wait to return and create more cherished memories at this enchanting establishment.
It was okay. Nice pleasant environment. Service was pretty good considering the business. The lamb shank was great! Nice tender, great flavor. Would have again. The duck presentation and taste was mediocre at best. Chicken spinach salad, chicken was dry and tasteless. Wish there was a salmon, or another fish option. Appetizer options were limited. An ahi poke or something similar would be a nice addition. Wine tasting was a nice experience. Would return for wine tasting. Probably not for dinner.
A great experience! Our sever was a quick witted and very smart who quickly figured out what everyone would enjoy. Great wines and wonderful views. Loved the reserve dry wines!!
I am not the biggest fan of wine but going here was an experience for sure. The scenery was beautiful and the setting was equally pretty. I got the wine tasting set which was 25$ per person. It gives you 6 tickets to try different wines. The server was very nice. I definitely prefer the sweet/dessert wines.
