Manningtree Station Buffet - Tendring

A good place for bacon sandwiches in the morning or a pint in the evening. I often call in when using the ferry to or from Holland, changing here between the main line trains to and from London and the local train to Harwich. What’s not to like here. There are few few station platform buffets left these days where you can also get a beer. The Manningtree offering has a good selection of beer and a couple of local ales on too £4.50 for a pint of ale at time of writing). Butties were advertised at £4 including a hot drink which seemed great value, although I didn’t indulge. You can’t knock being able to finish a pint and step onto your train within seconds. The staff were friendly too and there are outside seats if it’s a nice day where you can watch the trains. Worth waiting until the next train just to stop by.
