The restaurant is well designed to take in the spectacular scenery from all directions. We went the first afternoon for a drink, and were very impressed with the service. My husband especially appreciated the extensive menu of craft beer! So we came back the next day for lunch (but first took a stroll on the beautiful beach infront). Our server was very friendly and helpful. The pizzas were very nice (thin crust). Definitely one of my favourite spots in the pacific rim area!
We often stay at Long Beach Lodge Resort and end up having dinner at least one night, and we are often disappointed. The food is okay, the service friendly enough but really not a great value for the price. The wine list clearly states the decanting time for each bottle of wine. We ordered the wine before our meal when we ordered cocktails, The restaurant had only 2 other tables, and quite a bit of staff. Wine arrived at the table after our meal arrived and the waitress told us it was even better after if was decanted for a while. Really? why wouldn't she have decanted it when we ordered it.
We ate breakfast and a couple of evenings as we were staying at the lodge. Staff were always efficient, attentive (without being overbearing) and friendly, although the manger did look a little harassed one evening, much to our amusement.Food was good with a varied menu and a chance to see what was being cooked as the kitchens are open to view.Definitely a good idea to book though as there was often a queue. I'd go back if it wasn't so far!
We stopped in here in between visiting the various beaches in the area. The restaurant is in the Long Beach Lodge main building and on the beach. My hubby had the chowder and I had fish and chips. Food was good, servers very friendly and watching people surfing while we were dining was a new experience. The beach is beautiful and very popular judging by the number of people on it. We would go back again.
First thing- book. We didn't book and ate on the lounge chairs, this was fine for us but others may not enjoy bending over to eat. The views out at dinner time, truly are blinding when you have the sun shining THROUGH the blind, the sea reflecting the sun's light and the table shining into your face while you eat. We were obviously too busy to look as we were mainly eating here, the food is very good, we had small things but they were still very good. It is very convenient for the two other resorts as it is the best, nearest restaurant. Overall the staff were extremely friendly and willing to help, the food was wonderfully presented and is very easy to get too from the beach from the other resorts.
