I was a little disappointed at price of some items we got the sirloin poutine and it was over $20 and you got like 4 small pieces of meat. Also some of the oysters were tiny ! But service was good, we went to the Topsham location. Staff was friendly and decor of the restaurant was neat!
I ordered the steak tips and poutine as well as two orders of black bean chili. The steak tips were somewhat tough, the portion was at the most 4 oz and the gravy used for the poutine tasted like it was from a jar all for $28. The black bean chili orders came as beef chili instead due to a staff error. I ate them anyway. They were less than 8 oz each, came with about 10 tortilla chips and cost a total of $18 $9 each). They reminded me of chili I could buy at Walmart and heat up in the microwave with a couple tablespoons of pico de Gallo on top. This was all taken out and brought home. After I paid for it I got the strong feeling that the hostess was upset that I didn't tip for take out as she wouldn't even look at me despite our very short interaction. My advice: if you're thinking about getting food here just go to Walmart and buy prepared microwave food as it's about the same quality as Seadog in Topsham nowadays. The prices have soared and the quality has plummeted.
Stopped here for a quick bite to eat after a long day out and about. Snagged a spot outside by the water, which made for a nice meal with a view. Our table ordered the lobster roll, Cajun chicken pasta, haddock tacos, and the fried shrimp basket. The pasta, and tacos were a favorite! Service was fast and attentive. Overall, nice spot for a quick lunch!
I do hope the folks that at Sea Dog 's are happy with their happy hour promotion because we, the erstwhile patrons, were not. While on vacation we stopped at this location during said happy hour and learned the discount being offered applied to 1 and only 1 variety of beer and 1 and only 1 variety of wine. The 1 also applied to the amount of the discount as in $1 per drink. On the 1 and only night we visited the beer offering was the hazelnut Porter and the wine was a Merlot. I took a pass on the beer and paid full price for 1 pint of their Windjammer IPA that turned out to be pretty ordinary. We were disappointed by the short pour of wine my wife received and soon realized that it was 1/2 the size of the full priced glasses of wine other patrons received for $11 while her 2 glasses rang up for a total of $12, the difference being $1 in Sea Dog 's favor. Needless to say, but I will say anyways, it is 1 and one for us at Sea Dog 's.
