It was a great experience a lot of fun and the seafood was really tasty. I would definitely do this again!
My boyfriend and I had to visit this spot. It seems to be the new thing in Toronto, eating seafood with plastic gloves on a plastic tablecloth. The daily catch arrives in a plastic bag seasoned to your request. I had a great time and loved the casual atmosphere – so fun to eat with your hands! It’s a little messy but it’s a good laugh. Here is how it works…
The Captain Boil is a place where one can indulge in the pleasures of the sea, without leaving the comforts of the city. It is a place where one can feast on the bounty of the ocean, without breaking the bank. It is a place where one can experience the joy of eating with one’s hands, without losing one’s dignity.I visited the Captain Boil on a weekday afternoon, when they offer an all-you-can-eat option for a reasonable price Less $30 a person). I was greeted by a friendly staff, who explained the rules and the menu. I chose the seafood boil, which included shrimp, mussels, clams, corn, and potatoes. I also selected the garlic butter sauce, which promised to enhance the flavor of the food. The food arrived in a large plastic bag, steaming and fragrant. I put on the gloves and the bib and prepared to dive in. I was not disappointed. The seafood was fresh and the sauce was rich and savory, and the corn and potatoes were tender and satisfying. I ate little past the point I could take no more, and then I ate some more. The Captain Boil is not a place for the faint of heart, the delicate of stomach or those who do not have the time to enjoy. It is a place for the adventurous, the hungry, and those who have at least $30 to spend on lunch. It is a place where one can enjoy the simple pleasures of life, without worrying about the consequences. It is a place where one can find happiness, for a moment, in a bag of spicy shrimps.I left the Captain Boil with a full belly, a happy heart, and a slightly lighter wallet. I spent less than $30, and I felt like I had a feast. I recommend the Captain Boil to anyone who has the time, loves seafood, and who is not afraid to get messy.Vegetarian options: For those that see seafood as vegetarian, then yes.Parking: Multiple restaurants so it can get busy at lunch.Wheelchair accessibility: Great access
Really liked this specific Captains Boil. I find that the consistency of the Captains Boil sauce really varies from one location to another. We got shrimp and mussel seafood boils and it was plenty of food for 2
Captains boil is always so addictive esp with the captains boil sauce. Service is decent and atmosphere looks a little outdated.
