There are a couple of locations of La Carnita in Toronto. We went to the John Street location near St. Andrew Station in the Entertainment District.<br/ <br/ They have a very reasonably priced prix fixe lunch menu where you can receive a starter, two tacos, and a dessert for $16.99! (It’s available before 4 p.m. each day.

This trendy little place with industrial chic is easy to pass up on the exterior, but is a gem of a place on the inside where you are greeted by friendly and welcoming staff who clearly enjoy working there. <br/ <br/ I opted for the brunch menu offering a choice of two tacos, a side and dessert for $14.99 which is great value. There are supplements for grilled fish or ceviche (both of which I chose, clearly). The food arrives impeccably presented with plenty of much needed napkins, although I would argue that the actual flavours don’t quite live up to the aesthetics. The barman was kind enough to create a mimosa for me as I wasn’t keen on the vast array of sangria they had on offer. The tangerine guava juice mixer was lovely although the bubbles were a little miserly in quantity. Dessert from ‘****’ ice cream next door was a delightful treat to finish off the meal. <br/ <br/ Overall, a good option for brunch or a meal with friends. <br/ <br/

Really cool decor ! Great area to seat 10 people. Tacos are delicious and pack a ton of flavour. The mushroom tostada was my favorite ! Hot sauce was really tasty as well. Their rye cocktail was also very good along with the margaritas !

The restaurant is bustling and noisy, but the food is absolutely amazing. The street corn was a delightful surprise on the menu and incredibly delicious. The tacos were all fantastic with unique and flavorful combinations. Finishing off the meal with churros was the perfect way to end the dining experience.
