Auberge de Tournemire

Grumpy waitress. disgusting coffee. there are more inviting places to eat in the village. we will not be back. they are obviously not worried about return custom.

We, as many others I suspect, had come to tournemire to visit the castle d’anjony and not expected to find somewhere to eat in such small and outside the village. so we were pleased to find this place, especially since the temperature in the...form was already with the 30s. the greeting was friendly, the service fast and the plate du jour easy, but tasty. we sat under the deck on the terrace, which looks over the castle and the valley below perfectly.

Not to miss. a family restaurant, unpretentious from the outside, so when passing on they can not be aware of the treasures within!. not only excellent country gourmet cuisine, with fresh local products, but an extremely warm welcome and excellent service. fabulous and interesting decoration of collected pieces and brocante.

That is the second time that we were in this restaurant, and we go back when we are in cantal.

Without a doubt this small restaurant is the best in the area, so good in fact we went there twice in three days and the food was as wonderful for lunch as it was for dinner. The new owners have brightened the place up and...brought a lovely friendly atmosphere to the restaurant. But the food is what makes a great restaurant in France and the Auberge De Jaure has more than qualified for that status. Some of the best presentation I have come across with cooking to match and the service which bigger restaurants can only dream of. Prices are unbelievable for food this good and the set lunch menu at 13 euros for 5 course with wine is astonishing. The owners work very hard to maintain this high standard and I for one will be returning as often as I possibly can, I wish them Bon Chance..
