It also made me like octopus (try the octopus salad! the dishes are a served in generous proportions and the different chutneys are a . I went there twice during my stay in Mauritius and both times we’re fantastic.
Great food and service. I could eat the prawn curry everyday and I’d be so happy. Grilled fish fillet and noodles also fabulous.
We can't vouch for more complicated dishes, but if you want great fried rice or noodles, sitting at an outside table with a view of boats and the sea, you couldn't do better. This is a family business that has been going for more than 20 years and they began to welcome us like old friends.
We had an ok experience, but we’re a bit disappointed. The restaurant is cash only. Had we know ahead of time we would have been prepared, but because we didn’t know, we ordered less than we would have liked. It was very busy and the waitress did an amazing job setting up chairs for people to wait until a table was available. She handled all the orders and was very busy. Unfortunately she forgot to order our main course and we waited a very long time for our food, watching others who had arrived after us be served. When we did get our fish curry, it was delicious, but raw and cold in the center. We mentioned it to the server who removed the plate, but it was never replaced. The flavor of what we had was really great and we would have returned to try again with more cash, but this was our last night on this side of the island before flying home. Very pretty little spot on the water.
This is a very rustic place! Having said that the food is good and reasonably priced. I had chicken and shrimp curry which was delicious whilst my husband had fish curry. Although he said it was tasty, it was a very meaty whole fish and he struggled with all the bones. Lovely service.
