10 East Kitchen Tap House - Turlock

I think they used to have meat substitutes, but didn't when I visited in October 2021. Their online menu still had them listed, but the server didn't know what vegan meant, as she listed mac and cheese as being one of the vegan options. I ordered some sides, which were fine, but not filling. I also had a mocktail, which was too sweet for me. It had the feel of a local hangout where everyone knew each other, which included the staff, which were being super loud along with the guests catching up, etc. Which is great for them, but terrible for me because I was hangry. I won't ever come here again, and I don't think it should be on Happy Cow anymore. It doesn't seem any more veg-friendly than any number of restaurants in the area.

I was here for work staying off the highway and thought I was in the middle of NOWHERE. Pleasantly surprised. Bartender was also a cook and very knowledgeable on what items were vegan. (Ciabatta bun IS, potato bun ISNT) Also they have vegan cheese for pizzas even though it isn’t advertised. Garlic fries have Parmesan so he asked if I wanted that. Nope. Very accommodating and food was a relief considering my initial though of the area!

I ate at 10 East a few weeks ago and was really excited because our server said she was vegan! I asked her what can be made vegan and she said the Thai Noodle Salad and their veggie burger. She strongly recommended the Thai Noodle salad, so that's what I got... it was AMAZING! I went back yesterday and ordered the Vegan Thai Noodle salad, the server returned shortly after ordering and said it can't be made vegan because the noodles and sauce are not vegan. They also said the fries aren't vegan (which came with my boyfriend's veggie burger that he asked to be vegan). I was really disappointed...

Lovely restaurant built from an old train station. Nice outdoor patio. Offers Gardein to be swapped instead of meat for several dishes.

The service was great because of teamwork and the contributions of all employees. eating was terrible. the noise level was harmless and it made for a bad experience.
