Ambiance was super World Cup football on tw everywhere, service was fast and efficient- server kept often - eating was fabulous! aguachilles recommend.

Super nice people from greeting to our great servers for employees. Food was hot, delicious, fantastic! Tamales and Hartschaletacos tasted authentic. Very clean restaurant and the best place I ate in a while. A beautiful hidden jewel. El Barco's ready!

I love this place. Everything about it amazing. Always great service, food is always on point, good prices. Used to have a close connection with El Nebel, but from late the woman and I have decided that El Barco wins in any category. Stop the good workers!

We were thinking of grabbing Mexican food last night when I came across some recommendations of El Barco in Urbandale/Clive. We ended up giving them a shot — and boy am I so glad we did. We have recently moved to the area and have been on the hunt for Mexican food that reminded us of our favorite spot back home. About halfway thru the meal it was decided that we had now found something BETTER. My boyfriend had the steak tacos I had the vegetarian burrito/enchilada meal with rice. The plates were HUGE and the portions for the low prices were insanely impressive. We ordered queso which was perfection the salsa so fresh! Cherry on top? Our entire bill was $22. If you’re in the area and your wanting authentic (well, something other than Chipotle), delicious Mexican food you HAVE to make a stop at El Barco. We will be going back again again.

Hands down, the BEST Mexican food I've ever had! Honestly blows all else out of the water!
