Molly was great as usual! Made Caprisi salad for me not on the menu. Actually better than the one that was on the menu in the past. My husband and I enjoyed our evening. Even if the property has changed twice. Menu is limited, many fish I can't eat, but still a great choice for an evening out.
Ambience? I guess I didn't expect the sound level to be so 'energetic', as a table wants to label it, that neighboring diners scream together and drown my dining room partner for every good conversation. Maybe the tables of this dining room are too close together? We should have moved to another table in the back dining room. Service? I wonder if the food is ready, just take it out, our server was very busy with other diners and I know our dishes were sitting on an edge for a bit. A nice note for this place would be to make the greeting more free and maybe ask to take your coat and hang it up, the coat hanger is right behind his desk. I had to ask our server to refill water twice. The pepper shaker did not allow to deliver its contents, had to unscrew the cap. I had to ask twice for a new fork when I left my first. When collecting tables, the servers (no bus staff I could see) were literally thrown into the bin, not 10 feet from our ears. Ouch! Menu: I think the prices are a bit high as salads are not included in the price of meal, and the vegetables on the side were watery. the steaks were made on medium demand, and up to Iowa Beef standards we like in Des Moines. The wine-growing was tasty for the price.
Friendly staff and regular staff at the bar. Nice live music.
Our server Joe was amazing. Classy, “traditional Italian” service. He was great. My husband is a steak lover but didn’t care for the rub on the ribeye. I got the seafood cioppino with fresh linguine and it was delicious.
