El Viejo Marino - Ushuaia

Either for lunch or dinner you must go to El Diejo Marino. We had the crab legs which were outstanding. The white wine matched the seafood perfectly. We than had the traditional classic dessert, Flan. Great lunch. The atmosphere is not fine dining, it’s basically a diner. The prices are moderate. The service was good.

Don't stop because of the storefront, enter and you will have a good experience. Fresh crab, very tasty, perfect dinner when you first arrive to Ushuaia.

We looked at the TripAdvisor recommendations and decided to take the short walk from Hotel Albatross for dinner here. They had early dinner hours, which suited us fine. The seafood stew was fantastic and accompanied by interesting pan and flavored butter. Next back to Ushuaia, we need to try the King Crab here. Ambiance is very comfortable and the eclectic wall mounted artifacts are entertaining ( see photo ). I was especially intrigued about the photo of the Ushuaia Rugby Team.

Four of us were walking down the street looking for another restaurant, however we stopped in front of El Viejo Marino - decided to try it instead. A very warm welcome on entering and looking at the meals of the other patrons we knew it was a great choice. Our meals were delicious- no side dishes were needed. We were extremely happy with our choice and thoroughly recommend it.

We went there for dinner at 20.30 and that is rush hour, there was already the queue outside the door, you then go in pick your number and patiently wait outside, or if you are smarter then us just call ahead and reserve :)Our 40 mins waiting time turned out to be nearly 90mins and we were doing the Centolla count down. We managed to seat at 22.15 we ordered the last 2 centolla left in the tank and we enjoyed every bit of it.They were perfectly cooked, very fresh and simply delicious!One of our party had the centolla soup and the paella and they were good as well.The service is efficient and they are very friendly.I strongly recommend this place!!!
