Crown And Thistle - Uttlesford

We came just before they where suppose to close the kitchen in the middle of the day. We got a platter for 2 with a lot of good stuff, served quickly from a nice waitor. A nice small city, will higly recommend it if you pass throug it :

My husband and I were staying nearby so stopped for an evening meal. Booking a table online was easy. Staff friendly and the food was not only delicious but there was a wide range and good descriptions to aid choosing. Would recommend.

Whenever I am in the area for work, I frequently visit this restaurant. It is well-managed, welcoming, and clean. The food is outstanding, and the service is consistently quick even during peak times. The beer selection is top-notch and the overall atmosphere is fantastic.

We traveled 35 minutes to get there, but were left disappointed. There was a long wait, our orders were incorrect, and the food was not good.

Visited for early evening meal whilst staying at Saffron Walden. Lovely food and excellent service in quiet village venue. I had a chicken green curry and my partner a prawn red curry. Both excellent. The rice portion was exactly right for me but my partner would have liked more, which reflects fact she comes from India where rice portions are typically (too) large for good health!
