We walked in without a reservation with our local friends and were warmly received by our server, whose appearance was reminiscent of 18th century France. He took our drink orders and returned promptly to take our food choices. He strongly recommended that I change my salad order for the antipasto plate. When it arrived I thought it could easily feed two or three. Filled with typical antipasto meats, green peppers (not hot) and breaded hot cheeses. Very nice, even the truffle flavoured mortadella. Our guests enjoyed the bourrata salad with sweet peppers and pasta diablo. The pizzas looked delicious. I’d definitely come back. Service was attentive and friendly. Prices reasonable for the location
I normally don 't write bad reviews, and take no pleasure from it, so I 'll keep this short. I have just lost two days of my holiday on account of being violently ill after eating Café Latin 's beef tartare with truffles. I have no aversion to raw food; this restaurant simply hasn 't the hygiene controls in place to pull off such a dish safely. My pregnant wife specifically ordered entrecote well done. The server acknowledged the request and the bump. A third of the meat was raw, as though it was sitting off the side of the pan as the rest cooked. The bit that was cooked was completely unseasoned and tasteless. Several aspects of the service were rubbish too. On arrival, no bonjour , just quatre? . We were pointed vaguely in the direction of the nearest empty four seater table. The table was still pretty dirty. When the server came to take our order, again there were no pleasantries, just dis-moi (tell me). The menu points to their philosophy of informal service, but there 's a fine line between informal and sloppy. The sloppy attitude obviously extends to the kitchen. Maybe I was just unlucky, but it was a genuinely terrible experience.
A super friendly restaurant that’ll make you a cup of coffee or host your family for an evening meal. We love it! Have a pit stop and a shelter from the sunshine or dress up for an evening meal it’s a great wee place!
The owner of our villa recommended Latin. It’s not the best restaurant in Valbonne, but they know how to handle noisy groups! We just asked for food to share and lots of rose. All pretty good and not expensive. Actually it was enough fun that we went back another time.
