It is always a pleasant surprise how good the Italian restaurants in Mexico can be! The garden room is very cute but was full when we came in. We sat at a small table indoors, which was fine but not as cute as the garden. We did see some of the tables had "Reserved" signs on them, so perhaps it's possible to call ahead? Service was efficient and quick. Our meal, along with a beer and a mineral water was about USD $25, a real bargain!
Third year in a row we go to Casa Italia. I grew up in Rome and the owner is from right next door in Salerno. The menu is simple but tasty. Pasta and pizza done right there from scratch and to order. All the pasta is made by hand. Great ambiance and service. I'll keep coming!
I loved this restaurant and the surroundings. Situated on a lovely square by the iglesia Candelaria sits this little gem. I was in Valladolid 6 days and ate here three evenings! (the other evenings I was out on tours or I would have done 5 evenings!) The ambiance is wonderful, the interior decorating is sweet and the food is yummy. How can it get even better than that? I'm just sorry they aren't open in the daytime too - I loved their coffee as well!
After having lived in Rome for several years, my yearning for authentic Italian food is ongoing, living here in the Boston area. Therefore, we were enthralled by the Asian inspired garden, offset by a La Dolce Vita poster! Fantastic terrazo, service very helpful, and the food...mama mia. We went two nights in a row, and each night we had gelato for desert. The pizza is Sicilian style - with a slight thicker crust. My husband had one and really enjoyed it. The caprese salad and all the pastas were excellent. We wish we had a Casa Italia in our neighbourhood! BTW, cash only, and no, they are not on Facebook!
We found this great little place walking from the Cathedral to Parque de la Candelaria, The restaurant offers Italian fare and we share a traditional Caprece salad and a Margarita Pizza (my only recommendation is to add more fresh basil to the pizza).Great wine and very good prices. We love it and we would go back!
