No one on our group table had something good to say about food. We all had various barbeque dishes, from pulled chicken to pulled pork to bbq chicken legs dinner. Have lived in St. Louis long enough to know good barbeques, such as Pappy's, Sugarfire 44, Smokee Mo's and Daley's just to name a few, and these listed places have excellent bbq. Iron Barley is definitely not on February Tuesday night that I visited. No one had something positive to say about any of the dishes, even pages. Regarding my bbq chicken legs, they were edible as the sides, but honest to be the bbq and sides in Dierbergs or any good bbq restaurant would have been better. Nothing tasted homemade and the chicken legs just didn't taste fresh. I mean, Daley's is a place where I recently had bbq chicken legs and the chicken at Daley's was clear fresh, tasty, homemade and tasty and the sides were interesting and made at home and not just from a can or freezer. The opposite of Iron Barley. There was no discount for low food quality as prices were average. Only positive are they have at least one German beer and the service was good considering that a server was responsible for our entire room and group. She really did a great job. With so many good bbq restaurants around and with Dierbergs also with considerably tasty dishes, I can't have a reason to go here if the quality of the food comes into consideration at all.
The food was good and our waitress, sara, was excellent. the bartender didn't seem good. we sat on the bar to wait on our table, he threw a few menus before us, pointed out and said 26 beer, then went away.
One of the best bars we've had for a long time! absolutely the best customer service from everyone. waiter, bar tender and owner! great food. will go def
Great sandwiches, wings/legs and watermelon salad! Bbq pizza has great sauce, crisp crust and loaded with smoked pork. For amazing smoked or barbecued meat, Iron Barley is hands-down one of the best in St Louis.
