Meeting him in 2020 was a privilege, and interacting with his award-winning staff was a pleasure. The croissants are top-notch and his positive personality and values are evident in his success. Thank you for a wonderful experience, you guys are awesome. My spouse couldn't stop saying "OMG" while eating the croissants. - Kerwin Maude, family of four.
Thomas Haas offers consistently fresh pastries and bakery items, unlike other places that produce in excess, resulting in dry desserts when left out for too long. Haas ensures they only make enough for the day they are open.
We arrived at the restaurant just before closing time, so the selection of pastries was limited. It seems that the popular pastries we wanted to try were already sold out. However, we were still able to find some delicious items to enjoy. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. My children and I loved everything we purchased and finished it all without any leftovers. We were grateful to have stumbled upon this gem of a restaurant and thoroughly enjoyed our visit.
One of my go-to places for relaxing with a nice cup of Americano. So smooth!!! Tastes amazing right down to the very last sip!!! Their chocolates and pastries are delicious too! I would rank this place one of my top three cafe's in Vancouver. The other two being: 49th Parallel and Milanos. Definitely a must try for visitors from out of town and those who appreciate great quality. You can really tell, Mr. Haas and his friendly staff are passionate about their: Coffee, Chocolates and Pastries.<br/ <br/ Being really popular, this little cafe can get quite busy. However, lineups go by fairly smoothly and quickly. Seating is limited. They do have a covered patio for those sunny afternoons. It doesn't always rain in Vancouver!!! :P<br/ <br/ Highly recommended! Excellent quality! You'll leave their place feeling better! What are you waiting for? Just go!!! :
Video review on my youtube channel with HD footage: vancity food crew thomas haas<br/ .<br/ This place comes highly recommended for those who like baked goods. My friend told me to get the almond croissant, and it was heavenly. Not too sweet, buttery and light in the centre but flaky and delicate on the outside. We also got macarons, a pistachio cherry tart and hazelnut praline cake slice. I would definitely return to get another almond croissant, but I hear the sandwiches are also worthy of consumption.
