Verl has a wide selection of 3 ice cream cafés in the city centre for its manageable size. We're both my underage tasting assistants and I wanted to see what's best. Day 2: La Luna: Location and ambience The ice cream café La Luna belongs to a larger chain with over 40 ice cream cafés in Germany. It is the youngest of the three ice cream cafés in Verl and is located in a very central location, right on the Gütersloher Straße. With the large forecourt, it is the only one of Verler Eiscafés who can manage a generous outdoor area. The interior is also very spacious. It is colorful in gray and brown tones, it is decorated with restraint that some can call cool, but comes to meet me. The round tables in the outdoor area are under large parasols, but they were not open today. They sit in comfortable dark plastic baskets. In beautiful weather there are relatively many passersby and you always have something to see. The traffic of nearby Gütersloher Straße is largely shielded by shrubs and trees. In particular, you are sitting out quite nicely just restriction, at the corner of the house it pulls extreme and we had to change the place, which after the operation probably makes almost everyone sitting here first. 4.5 star service: We are served by a nice young lady. The ordered ice cream comes to us today very quickly at the table, but is also not very loose and the correct bill is directly on the small tray. After we had finished and wanted to pay the food, however, none of the services could be seen in the field. A wind through the window also remained unsuccessful. Only after one of my two intermediaries inside came another operation and took the bill. 3 stars: Unlike the other two ice cream cafés in Verl, there is a map with all the offers that significantly simplifies the selection. The classic varieties and in particular so-called chocolate ice specialities are offered, for example with Rocher, Raffaello or Yogurette . The selection of different types of ice in the counter is good. The ice cream for all La Luna ice cream cafés is centrally produced and distributed. We ordered us: 1x Children Spaghetti Smarties 3,50 € 1x Spaghetti ice cream 4,90 € 1x Amarena Mug 5,90 € The ice cream: All 3 “ice mugs” were served in bowls and were visually appealing. The children spaghetti smarties here you can choose whether the children should be prepared spaghetti with smarties or sugar spreads, apart from the additionally used smarties and the additionally available sugar spreads, were simply a smaller variant of spaghetti ice cream. As ice cream there was a crispy, but very sweet waffles. The ice cream was nice creamy, but only a little tasted after vanilla. The strawberry sauce was slightly sour, although I like this, my two testessers prefer the sweeter version. The spaghetti ice cream was relatively large, otherwise from the components the children spaghetti without spatter and smarties. The Amarena cup is a very large part, consisting of 3 large ice balls. The amount of Amarena cheese and sauce was well matched. However, the cherries or sauces used do not taste very aromatic. The ice creams used 2x amarena, 1x vanilla tasted quite well, the vanilla ice cream could have a little more taste. Overall, the ice was nice creamy, but rather sweet. I would say good middle class and better than usual industrial ice cream. 3.5 star cleanliness: We only looked at the inside from outside. The outside tables were all clean. Only the non-empty ashtrays were again stone of effect. 3.5 star price/performance ratio: 3 star conclusion: La Luna has the most beautiful location of all Verler Eiscafés. In hot days the factor plays here and is seen as an important role, but the ice cannot completely convince.
