However, it started to get crowded quite quickly after a while and this reassured me. And to my satisfaction, the food here is DELICIOUS and the prices quite reasonable : starters 9 ~ 14€, main course around 14€ (pasta) or 19€ (fish), and desserts about 8€. You can have a nice glass of Italian wine to suit your meal, I guarantee you it's a total satisfaction taste-wise.The tables are quite well apart from one another so you're not disturbed by casual eavesdropping. Also, the decoration is pretty nice: not fancy, not ultra-modern but just OK.On the other hand, the service isn't the best ever found. They're alright and nothing more, quite neutral actually. They wait professionally but are not as sympathetic and joyful as in other restaurants around.
Spoilt for choice for places to eat near the Palais de Justice, we relied on Tripadviser to lead us here. Didn't immediately realise that it's right next door to the highly rated "fraicheur" restaurant. We tossed a coin and ended up in Il Passagio. We both had a plate of pasta and a half bottle of Chianti, with water that came to just over 50€. Not what I would call good value. The service was friendly but somewhat haphazard under pressure from a nearly full restaurant. The pastas were competent but unremarkable. Yes, the cushions are purple, but the seating is also on the low side which doesn't help when you're trying to digest a large bowl of pasta. Not sure what sort of Italian food all the five star reviewers on here are used to getting....
Excellent Italian food - many varied & imaginative quality dishes. Very friendly welcome and efficient & attentive service in comfortable surroundings. Looking forward to the next visit!
I try to eat here now every time I go to versailles. The restaurant is all purple. I mean really purple-with purple seating everywhere. It's located in a cute alley. Food is excellent. Bruschetta is superb. Pasta with Aubergine (eggplant) is excellent. Definitely Recommend this restaurant!
This place has great Italian food and the decor inside was very pretty. The restaurant is situated in a "passage" off a main street that is narrow and winds around and it's just charming. We had risotto and pasta dishes and they were excellent. We also had a great bottle of Italian wine. The prices weren't bad either for the quality of good. I will inform you thatparticular night we went, nobody spoke English and I believe the menu was primarily Italian which made ordering challenging. I wasn't even exactly sure what I ordered but it was great. If you end up in Versailles and need a break from French food like we did definitely give this restaurant a try.
