(and less expensive than the boring fries from one of the other food trucks) The menu looks fantastic, but as I can't eat the fish or the bannock at the moment, I'll have to hope to try them in the future. Service was friendly and efficient. The person taking orders did a masterful job of keeping a straight face and not rolling her eyes as person after person ordered their food "to go" - it is a food truck, people!
We tried this place on their very first day of business and we were not disappointed. As I understand the story, the truck is funded by, manned by and benefits First Nation peoples.I tried the Indian Taco with bison. This is not a hold-in-the-hand type of taco: it’s open-faced and very hearty (see photo).
Great food in the car park near the ferry terminal. Freshly cooked salmon was just great. chowder was full of fish. Plenty of seating in the glorious Victoria sunshine
My partner and I decided to try this new food truck out today for lunch. This particular venue is unique in that it focuses on cuisine with an Aboriginal bent, so you know you're in for a treat! My partner tried the fried bread. Now, as someone who has had my fair share of this delicacy in the past, I'd give it a passing grade: it wasn't too heavy or oily; however, I felt it did lack in the "crunch" department because, typically, fried bread should have a nice crispy exterior, but a warm and soft interior. Still, this was pretty good!I had the "Salish dog," which was basically a hotdog cooked inside fried bread. This, for me, was the star of our lunch time snack -- full of flavour and freshly made. The accompanying dipping sauce helped to push it over the edge!I'd definitely recommend checking this place out. Good food at very reasonable prices!
After walking around and finding nothing but lunch in the fisherman's wharf we came out to the area where this food truck was. All other restaurants were 15 bucks a plate! We decided to come to this place and had a delicious French toast and egg sandwich for 14 dollars total. Great place.
