Dickey's Barbecue - Vienna

I ordered carry-out for lunch from Dickies Vienna. I wanted it to be good since it 's close to where I work. It was not what I 'd hoped for. I ordered a meat plate ...sliced brisket, coleslaw, and beans. The brisket was chopped not sliced and was on the chewy side. If it was marinated and smoked it was done on a gas or electric unit, as opposed to wood fired...because there was no pink smoke ring and very little smoke flavor. You can make good BBQ in a gas or electric fired smoker, but this wasn 't it. The sauce was nothing special. The beans were okay, but I didn 't get the feeling that much effort went into their preparation...think Bush 's. The coleslaw was actually quite good. There are better choices locally for BBQ... Famous Daves and Red Hot and Blue are both considerably better as chain BBQ restaurants go.

I was here a lot. If you are looking for a fast meal and good BBQ at a reasonable price, this is a great place for you. It is not where you would go for a culinary experience and ambience, that is faster food than it is restaurant. I love the food here. Everything is excellent, although I would rate the Brisket as my favorite. You have daily combo specials if you want to try new things. Large sides to go with their big BBQ meats. You also have a frozen ice machine for a free desert if you are so inclined. I think it's pretty like a delicious palate cleaner before I go back to the office.

Our family stayed on the way to FL yes, a very long journey! We had a variety of side menu items, but we really enjoyed the baked potato, onion rings and the potato casrole. The main items we had were all good, but we enjoyed the beef brisket, which was slim and very tasty! I personally liked the spicy bbq sauce against the original sauce. A nice note for the kids was the free ice cream. We'll return when we're in the area!

Their brisket is some of the best in the area. The sides here don't disappoint either, I love their green brleans and fried okra. And any place that also serves pickles and onions is doing BBQ right!

This place is wonderful! The ribs are amazing! Try not to regret it!
