I usually don't write reviews, but I felt compelled to share my experience. I hadn't visited in a while, but I returned recently and the new bartender reminded me why I loved this place. The atmosphere is fantastic, the food is incredible, and the drinks are top-notch. The entire staff was friendly and attentive. I will definitely be returning and will recommend it to everyone I know.
To start with the drinks—they were amazing! The bartender clearly knows what he’s doing. However, the food was a different story. While everything had the potential to be delicious, the main issue was the lack of flavor. It all came across as pretty bland and needed more salt and seasoning. The shrimp were cooked perfectly and had a nice cherry glaze, paired with a cabbage-like salad that reminded us of the filling inside an egg roll from a Chinese restaurant—definitely had an Asian flair. The street corn consisted of two roughly 4-inch pieces that were lightly fried, but again, they lacked flavor. Once I added more salt than I usually would, it tasted acceptable, but it would have been much better if the seasoning had been incorporated during cooking. The sweet potato fries were well-prepared but leaned too much towards sweetness instead of saltiness. I really wished they had a good Melba sauce to accompany them. Although the ranch sauce served with them was quite good, I'm a Melba fan all the way. As for the nachos, they had a delicious sauce on top, but I would have liked more of it. The meat was cooked well but again was underseasoned. It seems like this is a common theme in the north—lots of bland food. Fortunately, it's an easy fix! At this point, we ordered a second round of drinks, which were also fantastic. My wife opted for the 007 vodka gin martini, while I went for the Pain Killer cocktail, both of which were well-made and high-quality. The atmosphere in the restaurant was great, and we will definitely return—but when we do order food, we’ll make sure to ask for it to be well-seasoned.
I just went this Saturday with my significant other. Second time. Everything was great until I got my check and was in disbelief that I was charged $22.00 for each of my Martinis!!! I eat out often, and at many very good restaurants. I have paid as high as $16.00. The norm is $14 or $15. This was an absolute rip off! Too many great restaurants to choose from. I won’t be back to The Front Steet Social Club!
Stopped in here since we were staying in the medbury, seated quickly the bartender immediately greeted us and asked about drinks. I had the old fashioned. First for me as usually do not get these kind of drinks. It was pretty good. I got the panko Mac and cheese which was good also. It was served up hot and very fast. We do plan to go to the medbury again and I will be going back to the front street social.
