Cooper's Hawk Winery Restaurants

The setting is elegant and calm, the food was delicious, but the service was the standout in my mind. Our waitress, Kage, really delivered. I can't remember the last time someone got my coffee order correct. (It's not complicated. I always say, I like a little coffee with my cream to underline that I need the server to leave some room in my cup for me to add cream. No one does it. I always receive a cup of coffee filled to the brim. Not so with Kage. She not only brought me a precisely portioned cup of Joe, but she intuitively provided extra cream. (It's the little things. I realize this isn't hard to do, but I added this comment to emphasize that she really listened. She also did a masterful job of pairing my friend's wine with her chosen entrée, was prompt, attentive and pleasant.

Cooper's Hawk is one of my fav restaurants in VA Beach. This particular night, the service was no different than what I'm use to. My cousins and I sat in the bar area in a booth and the server was great. She gave us time to order and brought out 3 rounds of complimentary pretzel bread to accommodate a late comer to the party. As wine club members, she offered us the sample of the wine(s) of the month. The grateful red and white wine and they were delicious and generous pours. I decided to get a bottle of the white for the table as it was my favorite out of the two. I ordered a light dinner. The Caesar salad and the Italian sausage and whipped burrata flatbread. Both were excellent and the flavors together were great. The pizza was baked to perfection and this might be a new favorite for me. The burrata was not overpowering and all the flavors came together nicely. Football games were playing on the TV in the bar Area and the music choice was great. I will be back!

I love the ambiance at Cooper's! Wine tasting is always my favorite thing to do. The food is pretty good, not top tier but good. The server and manager were pretty helpful. I would recommend to others, but it is a pretty popular spot, so reservations are recommended.

On Sunday October 29, 2023, three guests and I visited the Lynhaven Mall location for dinner. I ordered a lobster bisque and 10 minutes later our waitress said they were out. I ordered the spaghetti and meat balls. About 10 minutes the waitress said it wasn't available either. I finally ordered a cheeseburger with fries. My three guests suffered the same with their orders. I am not blaming my waitress for my order. But I think my guests would. For example one guest ordered dessert with ice cream. The order came back with no ice cream. By the time it did, this guest had eaten most of the dessert. I am blaming management and Particularly the person responsible for stocking the storeroom. Come on Cooper's Hawk. You advertise 4 star service and food. On that day, a 2 would be doubtful. The wine was good. It should be.
