Motsie's Sea Grille - Virginia Beach

A friend highly recommended this restaurant, so we decided to make the drive from Chesapeake to check it out, armed with a Groupon. We were not disappointed! My husband ordered the happy hour fried shrimp, which were enormous and coated in a delicious batter. The accompanying sauce was pleasant, although a bit too spicy for my liking. I opted for a side salad that came with a delightful homemade ranch dressing; the vegetables were fresh and flavorful. For my main course, I had the seafood linguine. The portion was generous, featuring delicious pieces of shrimp, scallops, and crab. The sauce was light and lemony, though I would have preferred a bit more flavor. My husband chose the scallops with orzo and asparagus, and I couldn't help but wish I had ordered that instead! It looked amazing, with a creamy sauce and perfectly seared scallops. The desserts were also impressive, but I've run out of steam for writing!

So, how did Motsie’s hold up? I started with the Asiago Calamari as my appetizer, and it was delicious, especially paired with the Key Lime Aioli. Instead of a full dinner, I chose the Pan Seared Scallops as my appetizer, which were absolutely divine! Served with crispy shoestring onions, they might just be the best scallops I’ve ever had! My dining companion opted for the Crab Cakes, which she always orders when available, and she declared them the best she’d ever tasted. That makes it two for two! I also need to mention what I initially thought were Hush Puppies turned out to be Corn Fritters, and they were so good that we ended up ordering an extra portion to take home! After the holiday feasting, I was hesitant to indulge in dessert, but the sight of the Key Lime Pie was too tempting to resist. I couldn’t say no to Key Lime Pie! Once again, it was as good as it gets. This relatively casual venue managed to serve a meal that any fine dining restaurant would envy. I’m so glad you’re back, and it feels like you've returned with a bang! I look forward to seeing you all again soon!

We dined out tonight for the first time on Valentine's Day in years, bringing our daughter along with us. The food was absolutely delicious—much better than I had anticipated! Among all the restaurants we've considered, I genuinely believe we made the best choice. It was one of the most enjoyable meals we've had in a long time. The atmosphere was comfortable, the staff was friendly, and there were plenty of options on the menu. We felt perfectly at ease having our daughter with us. Thank you for a wonderful dinner and the complimentary chocolate strawberries; we will definitely be back! P.S. The corn fritters were amazing—absolutely yes!

This was our first time here, it it certainly won’t be our last. Not only was this restaurant fantastic, the atmosphere, the service and the food were top notch! We will come here again and again. Loved it!

This place is incredible. I went there because a friend told me about it and I’m glad they did. I got the tuna bites as an appetizer and it was honestly the best tuna I’ve ever had. Our waitress was Rachel and she was so nice and took the time to answer all my questions which I had a lot of. They have a giant bell at the bar and when I asked Rachel she said it was for when people donate to one of three charities they ring it. I mean honestly how cool it that! I’m coming back for sure.
