I'm on my third week of Swol meals and I love them. My boys (11, 4 fight for my meals because they are THAT tasty (and yes, I reluctantly share with the little macro thieves ! I've long subscribed to some of the nationally-known meal prep brands, but I wanted to find something local to support the community and eat fresher (tastier! foods. I'm so glad to have found Swol Food. If you want easy macro tracking and fresh, delicious meals I highly recommend this small business!

As restaurants started to open up again for dine-in, we decided to try this unique Japanese Restaurant for late lunch dine-in (3pm). They have limited selections on their menu but there's still good amount of choices to choose from. Service was great. Restaurant is clean and food is great. There were 5 of us in our group and each ordered different items. All of us were satisfied with our orders. We tried Korean BBQ tacos, Tonkutsu Ramen, Oishii Burger, Japanese Curry and Pork Katsudon. Will we go back again to eat? Yes.
We tried this place, open less than a year. UNIQUE mix of Asian spice and different sauces coupled with a hamburger that was different than anything I have tried locally in Virginia Beach. The restaurant has a certain hip feel to it. Inside design is comfortable and well lit by colored accent lighting from the ceiling. The menu offers interesting choices that we intend to try on future visits. For instance, ramen is served on Wednesday and Sunday. I 'm interested in the homemade ramen because my experience is with the wrapped, dried curly noodles ready in 5 minutes. The burger, the Oishii Burger is what we had. Mine was served with macaroni salad, which has ham in it. It was very good...not soaking wet like supermarket mac salad in plastic containers. Back to the burger...the patty itself is thick, about as thick as your thumb and is deep fried. I was doubtful about a deep fried burger but was surprised about how juicy and had a sort of crispness to the surface of the patty. There are different sauces for your burger that are much different than the usual mustard and ketchup or mayo. A pleasant break from the usual. We ordered chicken wings as an appetizer, but were too full to eat them after the burger and mac salad. We asked the waitress to box them so we could take them home. Speaking of the service...very good. Our waitress was on point with her ability to describe menu items we were unfamiliar with. My ice tea glass never went dry. The owner Paolo (probably misspelled) visited our table after I asked about the ramen on the menu. He explained that the noodles are made there, and the broth took quite some time to develop from bones. This restaurant is unique and interesting. I saw a couple of families with children. The children seemed to like the food, too. There were a few couples on date night, and also some college aged people seated at the bar. For those interested, they serve liquor but by no means is this the main focus of the place. The focus is on the food. Unusual name for a restaurant. I think it is pronounced wee ' shee . Go try it. It 's a new spin on a burger you can try. Good vibe from the place. Restrooms were well stocked and clean, and it has one of those new hand dryers you may have seen.
