Last visit was very nice but the thing is, I went a Sunday that it's a pretty busy day, it took me 20min to wait for someone to ask me what I gonna drink and well, another 20 to wait for the food. But the wait was worth it when the food comes to the table.
It was a nice quaint restaurant. The food was freshly made and hot. Had a real good experience.
This spot is perfect for a morning or brunch outing with family and friends. One great feature is that you can call ahead to place a to-go order. Please note that menudo (a spicy Mexican soup made with tripe) is only available on weekends. I wouldn’t recommend the enchiladas served on Friday nights, as they’re not made properly—there’s only a small amount of filling (potato and chorizo) on the tortilla, and they skimp on the toppings. Overall, the food is excellent, especially the salsas, and the coffee, tea, and horchata (a rice milk drink) are quite good too. The service is friendly. Edit: I will miss this place, a true haven for authentic Mexican food—goodbye to chile de molcajete, menudo, and gorditas!
This is the best spot in Waco to enjoy menudo, but it's only available on the weekends. They prepare it fresh, and it's so delicious that it sells out quickly. If you're craving some, make sure to arrive early before it runs out. It comes with homemade corn or flour tortillas, and their "salsa de molcajete" is the finest hot sauce you'll find in the area. They also offer fantastic gorditas and burritos, and they serve breakfast all day long.
You might be wondering why there are so many people here – it’s because the food is fantastic; it’s authentic Mexican cuisine!
