Nice dive bar, pool table in the back, darts and some other games in the main room. Bartender wasn't very talkative. Like patsy's I have no idea why bars in washburn make sitting at the bar so uncomfortable. These bars were built as standing bars, but if you want to sit at the bar, there's no footrest and you have to spread eagle just to be able to rest your arms on the bar.
We went here the last time we were in Washburn and tried it again this past weekend thinking it would be different. The same guy was bartending, a shorter guy with a mustache, glasses, and a bears hat. We came in with 6 guys total. He looked annoyed the minute we walked in (it was a Friday night mind you). He didn't ask us what we wanted to drink, he just walked over to the end of the bar and waited. From the minute he started the first drink until he gave us our change, he never once said a word to us or made eye contact with us. He was the rudest bartender I've ever come in contact with. What he failed to realize is that the guys I was with spend serious money at the bar on these fishing trips. We had the one drink there and went to Patsy's instead, where they actually looked like they were happy to take our money. We will never go back here again.
Customers are friendly in this place. Washburn's taverns seem to be more friendly and welcoming than Bayfield's bars.
It's my favorite bar in washburn and I love my firehouse family
