We enjoyed sitting on the patio and people watching, but I don't think we will eat there again because there just wasn't enough of the main course in proportion to the rice. The appetizers were very good, but again, quite small portions.
I enjoyed my meal here. The food is tasty and service and ambience quite nice. An aromatic rice pilau and kebab satisfied this diner's Middle Eastern pangs of hunger. Look forward to getting back soon to try other options on the interesting menu.
Out of business Why does a review need more words? It's closed. Shut down. No furniture. No food. Closed. But help demands more words. It's closed. Shut down. No furniture. No food. Closed. It's closed. Shut down. No furniture. No food. Closed.
3.5 stars. This place must be hurting because the waiter was forcing menu items down our throats. The waiter was overbearing because he tried to push us to order as much as we could. After seeing several photos of the afgan bread, I thought it was complimentary when the waiter casually asked if we wanted some bread. (it was $2) Transparency is important for a restaurant. The waitress, on the other hand, was friendly and helpful. As for the food, this is my go to meal. Chicken, lamb and rice. I can never go wrong with those staples in my meal. The food was cooked pretty well and flavored tastefully. The lamb was a little tough but lamb will be lamb. The chicken was phenomenally tender though. All in all, a tasteful place with an annoying waiter. Oh, and there was a smelly gas leak in the restaurant which made us leave because it was overbearing. Luckily we were almost done eating so we just got the rest packed up and left. Wouldn't hold it against them though because it could've just been a singular incident.
I ordered the Qabili Palao, which is somewhat similar to some other countries' rice based dishes (called some variant of pilau , but sweeter due to the carrots and raisins--maybe more like a non spicy biryani. Very enjoyable, definitely a dish I would order again. And they got my instructions about allergy issues accounted for, which was a big relief. So, thumbs up. Glad to have an underrepresented (and interesting cuisine around.
