Didn't check on us, didn't give or ask if my kid needed sauce for his chicken strip, then when it came time for box's she gave us 2 for the 4 of us who barely touched our food.. I wish we had sam as a waiter. He is on top of his game.... also the place was dead for once . Won't be coming back unless Sam is our waiter
Gary and his staff made our Christmas Party lunch with our staff and family very festive. The food was great, awesome wait staff and just a great atmosphere. Don't forget to have desert first! Thanks Team Governors. We will be returning next year for our Christmas luncheon.
Governor's is a favorite for my out of state family to go to when they come to visit us. Service has always been good, food is normally good as well, parking normally plenty of spaces, a ton of dessert options to chose from. Only negative things I'd point out, the menus I've noticed are sticky occasionally, you can tell the age of the restaurant with some of the benches/seats, and one dessert (strawberry shortcake) the homemade biscuit was as hard as a hockey puck (it was near closing time so was probably left out or something all day). Otherwise highly recommend this location when in the area.
UPDATED REVIEW: 12/25/23 We ordered to go 3 containers of haddock chowder and it came up to 38 dollars. With that much money, you’d expect it to be filled with potatoes and fish. We got home and my mothers had ZERO haddock. It was just potatoes! And the ones with fish only had one or two pieces at most. I hate to leave this review and sound like I’m nagging. For what it’s worth, the chowder was tasty. We were just disappointed with what we got. Overall, this one bad experience won’t stop us from coming here. We just hope for improvement next time.
Good food and great service, I had the Maple Glaze Cheese Curds and 3 cheeseburger sliders
