We arrived 2 hours early, and the owner, Phil, allowed us to check in early. We dropped our things in room #6 (in the building in the back) and set off to explore the town. After dinner, we headed back to get some ice cream from the creamery, which was pretty good. We headed back to our room to unwind, and when we got into bed, we noticed quite a few red/brown bugs. Immediately suspecting bed bugs, we called the contact phone number and reported the problem. Phil answered and said he 'd be over immediately to inspect. After 10 long minutes, he finally arrived and declared these bugs were fuzz and tree bark bugs. After some googling, we were confident they were bed bugs, and when we tried to show/explain, he became very aggressive and rude.Feeling attacked and speechless, we left the room to let him and his staff change the sheets and vaccum. Once they finished and left, we went back and examined the bed. The mattress seemed ok, but when we got down to the underside and box spring, you could see CLUSTERS of bed bugs and dark spots alike. We packed our stuff, got in the car, and went in search of another hotel. We will never get over the owner 's rude, dismissive, and aggressive attitude. This could have been handled completely differently, and we could have had a great stay, but unfortunately, that 's not the way things happened.
Drove thru town on our way from Canada to NY. Very fast service. Pepperoni pizza with beef was a nice choice. Happy we stopped by for

Great little pizza spot in Watkins for high quality ingredients and pizza.
Delicious wood fired pizza made to order; by hand! We were hungry after after hiking the Watkins Glen State Park so we walked down to the Colonial Inn for their outside pizza! Ordered the Margharita pizza and was not disappointed! Waited about 20 minutes since there was 3 pizzas in front of ours but totally worth the wait. We took it to go and ate every piece. $17 for the whole pie and it was cut into 4 pieces. It was just the two of us so it was the perfect size and amount. We will be returning tomorrow for the ice cream portion!
