We needed to cut it earlier than planned because it was falling over. We purchased a cake stand that we couldn't even use because the cake was too unstable to move. And if all of that isn't enough the cake was not what we payed for. The colors completely did not match our color scheme we asked for gold design she gave us silver. She pretty much made up her own design which was not the design we asked for. She didn't use buttercream icing. We acted for champagne flavor cake and we got dry sponge cake. Her cupcakes are extremely moist but it does not translate into her cakes. We reached out to her about our dissatisfaction and she didn't even have the common decency to apologize to us this is our wedding cake. Horribly customer service and delivery of a product. She basically took our money and did what she wanted to do not what we paid her to do. Honestly it seems like she did our cake last minute which left her with no time to complete it the way we Paid her to complete it. For sure the worse part of our wedding.
The Cupcake Queen made another fabulous cake for our celebration this weekend. We asked her to design a 3-D cake to highlight a family business. She exceeded our expectations yet again!! Everything is so easy, from ordering to pick up! All it takes is a short description and sharing of images to get the cake you desire. I can't wait for the next BIG family birthday party to order another special cake. In the meantime, I will be heading there for cupcakes.
I love supporting local businesses, so I was excited to try The Cupcake Queen. I got the S'more, and Plain Jane. They were awful. The frosting was grainy and coingly sweet. The cake itself was dry and tasteless. We actually threw them out, and at $7.00, that wasn't easy to do. As nice as the owner is, we will definitely not be going back.
We’ve purchased cupcakes several times and all have been great. I loved that they aren’t overly sweet.Several months ago we placed a special order for red velvet cake pops for a birthday party. When I went to pick up, they had the wrong date down (I totally understood how the mess up happened . They only had chocolate pops readily available. Her celebration was the same day so we took chocolate although my daughter isn’t a fan of chocolate. The owner was very apologetic and gave us extra cake pops for the mix up. And surprisingly, my non-chocolate loved daughter liked them too! While I do think prices are higher, we aren’t getting supermarket quality baked goods. This is a bakery with bakery prices (and not to mention, Waxhaw business rent prices…. . The brownies are huge and sweet and can certainly be split between 2-3 people.I don’t remember having anything at this location that has been bad or that it wouldn’t get again.
I ordered and purchased cupcakes for my daughters baby shower. We had not had any of their cupcakes before and wanted to support a local business. I gave them the theme of the shower (baby woodland animals). The cupcakes were plain ugly, with red clay forest green colors. And they were the driest cupcakes we had ever eaten. I will not go back.
