Tommy's service at breakfast this morning was kind, caring and just couldn't do enough for us. The help Felip gave with our reservation was really great. Our room The Simon de Montfort was warm and cosy and absolutely everything we needed. With a really comy bed. Breakfast was just amazing so much choice We cannot wait to come back, and we definitely will !!! Outstanding views from the gardens
We expected an old English village pub and was not disappointed however we felt the atmosphere was flat. The staff on duty did their job and if it was a tick box exercise then they ticked the boxes, unable to add names as they never introduced themselves which does make a difference to guests whether staying at the hotel or just in for a meal and drinks. If the Griffin is run as a hotel then it needs a welcoming agenda not just a hello and I’ll seat you. Sadly the food didn’t live up to the cost particularly the rib eye steak really need to look at the pricing structure. The big question is whether we would return for a second visit and currently the answer is no.
Thank you for a lovely lunch on Boxing Day and for dealing with our large party so efficiently. My husbands 60th was made all the more memorable by coming for lunch ,lovely food and very lovely staff .The Griffin has always been one of our favourite pubs so we will be back .
Excellent service and food, the staff were particularly accommodating. A lovely Engish pub within beautiful country village. Well worth the drive.
A really enjoyable lunch in very convivial surroundings with excellent service. The menu provided a superb selection of different dishes and my partner, and I were delighted by the experience. I was so impressed I have just booked to lunch there again in two weeks’ time.
