Village Inn - West Des Moines

The chicken pot pie was delicious. My wife's chicken breast was flavorful, but a bit tough. They had to quickly defrost the chicken breasts to prepare her meal. We probably should have mentioned this 15 minutes before we finished eating, but we didn't realize at the time.

This restaurant is absolutely amazing, similar to IHOP but with much higher quality food and excellent customer service, all at a more affordable price.

The service was not great that day. I was completely ignored while waiting to be seated, and then waited 15 minutes after sitting before a server finally asked for my order. The food arrived warm and salty. The peach cake was really tasty.

Service was great, but I ordered eggs benedict and the meat was deli sink folded. not the biggest taste.

We had not been to Village Inn in a long time. We enjoyed breakfast there 2 Sundays in a row after church. We were seated and waited on promptly, even though they were quite busy. Both of our servers were knowledgeable about the menu, kept our glasses full and were very efficient and friendly. I had huevos ranchers with pork and it was really good. Pleasantly surprise in these days of staff shortages. Please bring back candy cane pie at Christmas time. That was a favorite of ours.
