We often call in for a coffee, usually accompanied by a scone. The first thing you notice is the good value, the next the quality of the freshly made scone. Simply outstanding. Have taken grandchildren there a couple of times for lunch. Although nearly everything...comes with frozen chips and peas the food is more than acceptable. Afternoon they offer a coffee and cake deal, again excellent value. All cakes home made. Nice comfortable layout of cafe which is clean and tables cleared quickly Cafe staff are always pleasant and professional. Pity the majority of the garden centre staff are not the same. They can sometimes question your loyalty of supporting local businesses. If you want to try what are in our opinion as scone addicts) the best fruit scones in Lincolnshire make sure you go well before lunch as they are often sold out
Went today for a lovely trip with my mum. She is in a home but she has a wheelbarrow of her own there so we needed new plants. Had the intention of having couple of hours there for a nice afternoon treat. Little man whom...I guess was same one as previous review was so very rude . I said I had parked in the disabled section of car park as mum in a wheelchair but didn't have a badge so if anyone asked he could let them know. He was so rude and just said its up to you. I was so cross and did not want to spend any of our money with them but had to as it wasn't fair to get mum flustered. Will never go again. I work with the general public and love them. LMS little man syndrome I call it but so much damage done. Rude rude rude and I NEVER write reviews. EVER
Having been here last year to the garden centre and spent a heck of a lot of money, I thought I'd go back today to get a few bits and pieces for the garden. Thought I'd have a coffee and something to eat, the girl...at the till was not very talkative, didn't really want to respond to anything I said, so I thought I'm not going to spend anymore on this poor service! Then after that I went into the garden centre spent a small fortune only to have a little man' serve me who didn't speak or ask me for a bag if I needed it which I did, so I walked out fingers and thumbs with my things! couldn't be even bothered to say goodbye when I left! What is it with people now-a-days! So now, I decided to go back to the bigger garden centre in Lincoln from now on, at least they speak there and have a little conversing with you when I go, though it's a longer trip out I would rather have good customer service that this place! Appauling!!!
The tea room is popular with locals and gardeners, and is often used as s meeting place for the older generation to have a light lunch or a cup of tea and cake. Prices are reasonable , and the only other option in the village...is the pub. I would say the average age of clientele is probably 75!! A shame as it would also be good for cyclists for instance .
