Paakiza - Whitby

This Inn/Pub is an incredible spot to visit. The Fisherman's Pie is a must-try dish! I highly recommend checking out this place.

I absolutely adore this spot during the summer months. It's ideal with plenty of outdoor picnic tables, a lovely green lawn, and stunning views.

I absolutely adore this restaurant! The homemade pies, such as steak and mushroom, steak and kidney, fish pie, are all phenomenal.

Wow - I ca't believe I've lived in Whitby three years and have only now discovered this place. Paakiza is an Afgan supermarket stocking hundreds of imported dry goods you won't find anywhere else - including the most varied selection of basmati rice I've ever seen! Apparently everything is in Afgan prices. Oh, and they have an excellent little butcher counter at the back where the staff will prepare your order to your liking from a wide selection of top-quality meats at the best prices in town. Finally (and this is what its all about), they have a kitchen serving VERY reasonably priced Kabob and curry platters, with which you may choose to have their house-baked, Afgani-style Naan bread. OMG this stuff is good, and at $1.25 for a loaf the size of a large pizza, you just can't go wrong. Anyone in the Durham region who appreciates middle-eastern and south Asian food has to check this place out. There's nothing like it (MAYBE in Toronto)?
