We gave it one more try for breakfast but still sad. Toast was dried out from being in the oven for an hour or so. Could have crushed it and made breadcrumbs. Coffee is ordinary and just warm when I asked for extra hot. Eggs were ok but I asked for crispy bacon however got dried out from oven and not crispy at all. Sorry won't be back for awhile. Actually put me off eating breakfast out. May as well stay home and cook it myself.
The Campfire has changed hands and is now called "Café". The menu is similar and the food quite good but the table were dirty and the service slow. The young man who took our order was more interested in carrying out a very loud discussion with a female friend - work colleague sitting at a nearby table. This carried on while still taking orders and with little interaction with his customers. When we left the loud discussion was still in full swing so that there was no "Thanks and come again" as he would not have noticed that we walked right past him.Disappointed
We have eaten at the Campfire Cafe several times now and it is always delightful. The lovely sunny outdoor area in the rear of the Cafe is great for those chilly winter mornings and for the children to have a play in the enclosed play area. The coffee is always hot and delicious and the meals are delicious. I have had wraps, pies and salads and all have been fresh and yummy. I really enjoy this lovely little cafe in Highfields on the outskirts of Toowoomba.
We go here most Sunday mornings for breakfast after church. The food is well cooked and great value for money. About two thirds of the price of Chocolate Cottage. Really enjoy the coffee and the relaxed atmosphere. Service is good but EFPOS often doesn't work so take cash.
