Coffee is very good, french toast done perfectly, and the omlettes well stuffed. We looked at the dinner menu while there, and it looks good! And they have some wonderful options for New Year's Eve as well. They do need to modify their hours posted here- we came for breakfast at 830am...
Went to Cork Flame for a special occasion dinner. Both of us ordered veal cutlets with mushroom gravy, one with mashed potatoes and the other had gravy on the side with thick cut steak fries. Potatoes were “real” and mashed with garlic; fries were large, crisp on the outside, super tasty and not greasy. The portions were very generous two large cutlets served with roasted peppers and zucchini, coleslaw, and dinner rolls to start. We sampled the dessert menu, sharing the “milfeau” (deliciously creamy but not overly rich or sweet... just right! and apple crisp (crumbly, cinnamon y, lots of apples . Everything, desserts included, is homemade. Service was excellent... “Madison” was attentive but not intrusive. Ambient jazz music played at low volume was a welcome change from other establishments. Highly recommended. Bring an appetite!
We have been irregular regulars for a long time. Went this morning, and one of our favorite servers from another restaurant (Sabrina) is now here, and they have enhanced their menu! Win, win... I think we will be more regular regulars from now on...This is the place to feel pampered... Cloth tablecloths and napkins, well dressed staff and a lovely atmosphere... and with lower than you would expect prices. And the coffee is excellent!!!
I have dined at this location a few times now and have to say it is the worst-run restaurant in the city. The manager claims it 's a destination dining establishment. Which served as a coverup for 90 minutes of us waiting to get our first course and a further 30 minutes on top of that to get a disjointed entree service. The service all night lacked attentiveness and direction. What made matters worse is upon booking our party of 12 the manager insisted that we pre-order our meals. This led us to believe upon arrival we would have prompt service. Well, that is a far cry from what happened. Instead, after inquiring when we would get our meals, our server informed us they were serving a table of 30 than us. Wait, a table of 30? Did they pre-order as well? Who knows. The point is not only did we provide our meal selections ahead of time, but the server came to us to confirm our orders 45 minutes into our stay. I would expect that to occur at the time we were first brought to our table and while getting the initial drink order. But no, that would mean there is a structure in the restaurant 's training program. Not here. I can only conclude there is a lack of training and understanding of how to operate a restaurant. When the meal service finally came, it was disjointed with no rhyme or reason for how to bring the food out. If you are going to confirm meals with seating location then at least bring it out in an orderly fashion. Most restaurants train staff to start a specific seat and then go clockwise that way when the orders come out they are delivered in a smooth efficient manner. Again a lack of training for sure. After questioning when our food would be coming, the manager came to help clear the table asking how the food was. Granted the food is good. It doesn 't make up for a 2 hour wait which was his excuse for his restaurant being a destination location. Hey, if that expectation was stated at the outset of confirming a reservation then we would know what to expect. But it is not set out. Instead, the destination label is an excuse for lack of training, mismanagement which means you wait for your meals with very little attentiveness to service/ PS. I am a 30-year hospitality executive and it bothers me to write this but hopefully, they will reach out and ask for some guidance from the local restaurant association.
I was there recently. I must say the hostess was very friendly. Had two waitresses, each walk by me twice, without any acknowledgement,gestures,etc... They seemed to be more interested in cleaning tables than serving me. A male server then came over and served me after awhile (10 minutes) and apologized to me. I am not sexist by the way. They were not busy at this time. The breakfast was good and reasonably priced. The potatoes were good. It was a good and bad experience to me. I must admit it was my first time here. I was a regular back, years ago, when it was called something else and different ownership. I doubt I will be back. Maybe it is a good thing I did not become a regular here now like years before.
