The Fyxx - Winnipeg

The coffee scene in Winnipeg has undergone significant change in recent years. Not too long ago, options were limited to mostly chain cafes in town. Late-night options for coffee and dessert were primarily found in Osborne Village and a few scattered locations.

Oh The Fyxx, how I enjoy this coffee shop!  The food, the coffee and the service never disappoint.  Good music too.  I just wish there was more upkeep in the look of the coffee shop.  The place is due for new carpets or flooring, table tops and the booths require new upholstery.  A little TLC would be nice because the place looks run down.  Time for a new look!

This place is consistently good. The coffee is always fresh and the staff is always polite. The food consists of sandwiches and pastries. This is a regular for many downtown workers.

The staff were very courteous! I ordered a green tea smoothie without sugar and it was delicious, but I felt it could have had more of a tea flavor. The atmosphere of the restaurant was decent, with a somewhat relaxing vibe, although some tables were a bit messy.

This coffeehouse, designed in the second wave style, offers plenty of seating and wifi, making it a great spot for socializing and working. While the coffee may not have been the most flavorful, it was still decent. The atmosphere is similar to that of a Starbucks, focusing on roasting specific blends rather than showcasing the flavors of the beans. The barista mentioned that the coffee is roasted in Winnipeg, possibly rotating options periodically. Overall, this cafe is worth a visit if you're looking to settle in for a while, whether for conversation or to work on your laptop.
