Luckily, The Twisted Cafe was just around the corner, so we decided to give it a shot. The restaurant had seating for about 40 people, but there were only 10 diners during lunchtime. I ordered the signature California sandwich and a side arugula garden salad. The salad was exceptional, with a tangy raspberry vinaigrette dressing. The sandwich, a lettuce, chicken, and avocado combo, was delicious.
The food at this restaurant is still delicious, but ever since it was taken over by new owners last year, the service has taken a nosedive. I have visited a few times in the last month and, on one occasion during lunch, I was completely ignored by the staff - one was too busy taking orders and the other two were engrossed in conversation with her. I waited for a few minutes for them to acknowledge me, but eventually left in frustration. This morning, they were out of both whole milk and cream for coffee and failed to inform me when I purchased a cup. After paying, both staff members disappeared into the back and, despite calling out three times, no one came out. On the fourth attempt, one of them returned and when I asked for cream, she informed me they were out. These disappointing experiences have been recurring, and I miss the old staff who provided excellent customer service. With three other coffee shops nearby, I will not be frequenting this place as much anymore, which is a shame as it used to be my go-to spot for four years.
I had the salmon salad sandwich with a side Caesar salad and a caramel latte to drink. The food was fantastic, the staff were friendly. The restaurant was very clean considering it had been busy over lunch.
I had the half Kinda Greek salad. It was a generous portion for under $4.00. It was fresh and delicious. I think it's called Kinda Greek because it has romaine lettuce in it. The latte was also very good. This place is just what you'd want a cafe to be.
Often run over here for a coffee, London fog, or sandwich during lunch break. Good food and service. A good option if avoiding franchised locations. Support local business. Nice seating and atmosphere.
